Aero Naut Luxx

Very Strong User
My dad traded his old Aero-Naut Rocky to the Aloft crew for an Aero Naut Luxx. He built the Luxx and I covered it. My dad put lightening holes in the tail and generously sanded the rear empanage. We didn’t need to add any nose weight. AUW seems about 1.5 lbs so not a light model but it does fly well. Test flight went really well. A bit more trimming to do but I think it will become a great flier.

For reference the purple and white model is my Pilot Lavender kit. It’s AUW is around 9 oz on slightly less wing span.

We have a couple of Luxx flying in the local area, and I have to admit I am impressed with how well they do fly, but they are heavy little buggers. Plywood fuselage.

Yes, the Luxx is definitely not a light plane, you could beat someone to death with that all plywood fuselage! But it surprised us with how well it flies and it will thermal. Move the CG a couple mm aft of where Aeronaut has it, she'll float better. I have not recorded the exact number where I have mine balanced yet.

Yeah, I think we will take the Luxx down to kite hill one day soon. I think you’re right about moving the cg aft a bit. Right now it’s exactly where they mark it. I think we can move the battery back about a 1/2” and it’ll improve.
