56” Gentle Lady EVO build.

Did Z bends on both ends I did. I did quite a few practice bends first. The receiver is aft of the servos. A little piece of foam to hold it in place. I wired the speed control direct as I didn’t have any tiny connectors to solder on. My ugly mod under the horizontal stab doesn’t look to bad. If you squint.

Gentle Lady took her maiden flight this morning over the alfalfa field. Almost zero wind a few clouds and around 75 degrees. She flew exactly as expected, “Gentle “. I had to add two clicks up and no rudder trim. Was a bit sensitive on down elevated but I may of been alittle nose heavy. Better safe than sorry. I don’t really have any recommendations to to design. I’m sure Aloft has already heard from folks about a two meter one. I will buy one for sure. I would like to see an optional wing package that could be purchased separately from the kit. Something alittle more sporty with ailerons. Swap wings right there in the field. If Aloft does it i volunteer to be the first builder tester. Wink! Cheers Mike

You auw (266 grams) is a little on the high side, but should be fine. So far all of the prototypes, alpha and production builds have been just a hair under 250 grams. Do you have the CG on the front or rear of the spar? If on the front, that will be slightly nose heavy, but probably a spot many people would enjoy. As you move it back you can reduce the elevator throw to keep the sensitivity to a sane level. As you move the CG back, the wing will work better, but if you go too far she will require more workload to fly. Find the happy spot you like and fly the heck out of her!

I have to ask, is that an XT60 on the speed control? LOL Looks so huge. :p

Aileron wing - Yeah, we will probably do this. See how it does in testing.

2 meter - Maybe. I have for sure considered it. The wing structure would be very different for that span. Question is do we keep it on the higher end of performance, or more towards the trainer mode of the original? The little GL Evo is targeting a higher level of performance and handling than the original.

Yes super supercalifragic ridiculous huge. I need something smaller. I sent Aloft an email. .

By the way. I need something to build. Alittle more slopey with ailerons. 1.5 meter ish. All wood no carbon. Can you recommend a kit under $500 please.

Ridge Runt? (Too small?)

Faun:

Spin:

Rumor is we will get some more Magnus in soon, but been hearing that for a few months now. Here is a search of slope gliders under $500:

We might want to start a new thread for this conversation. :)
