Thought I would share an interesting question here on the forum so others may learn from it. Can you use the FrSky 3 axis stick end with the X10 radios?

The current design of the 3 Axis stick end is a screw in application. Currently the only gimbals this is compatible without modifications will be the Horus X12S gimbals and now the X10S gimbals. (Not the X10.)
To be clear, it will not screw into the X10, M7, M9 or the X7 or X9 gimbals.
With this said, the input you will use for the X10S can not be the rudder gimbal input as this is a digital source, you will instead need to use one of the pot input, this is one of the pots on the top, a slider or the 6 position switch. This will be very easy to adjust the mixing in the radio to use the correct input for use as a rudder or camera control, etc. Whatever you like. Just do not attempt to wire it to the rudder gimbal on the X10S. I may be wrong, but I think you would have unfortunate results if you attempted to wire into the digital rudder input.
Now to further expand on the uses of this stick. If you are a handy person, it should be pretty easy to adapt this 3 axis stick end to almost any gimbal out there. Most radios are like the other FrSky gimbals and they feature a press fit stick, this can be pulled out (a simple tool can be made to make this easy and no stress on the gimbal) and you can then drill and tap the center of the gimbal to accept this new stick end, or make your own adapter. Then it is just a matter of wiring in the 3 pot wires, and if you want to use the switch, there are 2 additional wires for that.
This is a fun little project, and FrSky gimbals are cheap enough that you can experiment without a huge bunch of $$$ to do this mod should you be interested.
Why a 3 axis stick? Well, we have had a lot of interest in them over the years. If you have a bad hand, a "single stick" can make flying a lot easier. Also they are very popular for video controls, or just making more coordinated turns.
I hope this will help some folks!
