2 meter Monarch Ascension (DJ Aerotech kit)

I don’t know if this is an F3-RES legal ship but at under 400 grams it is lighter than my Chrysalis lite F3-RES. My Chrysalis lite F3-RES is coming in at about a 425 in flying trim.

In the past I hated 2 meter ships mainly because they were associated with trainers like the Gentle Lady and Wanderers. With modern airfoils and construction they actually can now be fun!

Looks interesting. I like the fuse shape more than the chrysalis lite fuse.

It does look to be compliant with the sport F3-RES rules. I too like the full fuselage over the Pod and boom style fuselage.

I love my Chrysalis lite F3-RES but they had a persistent flutter problem with the tail. (Mine did/does not) I think this hurt sales. The new Monarch Ascension looks to be faster stronger and lighter than the Chrysalis lite F3-RES.

I just noticed she has split spoilers unlike the mono spoiler of the Chrysalis lite.

I hate spoiler! With that out of the way here is how I like to actuate spoilers. This set up is known as a drag link. It maintains a possitive connection with the spoiler and servo. Does not need or use any springs or magnets. Adjustments are easily controled by the radio's end point and /or...

Given your dislike of spoilers is there a lesser evil between the mono or split? I think the mono would be easier to set up and to use. I think your system shown in that post one would need 2 servos for a split type set up. Aerodynamically is there any benefit? The only model i have with spoilers is the Park Zone Ka-8 and they don't do much other than look cool on landing.

On the PZ Ka-8 and Radian XL the spoilers are just a bad joke! I “like” the mono spoiler for its simplicity I don’t like dual spoilers as they need ether a lot of linkage or two servos. I also don’t place much value on the idea that they minimize the disturbance over the tail.
