There are a number of flight videos with Joe where he demonstrates what he is talking about. Funny thing in at least one of them is you will see other pilots flying and they have short flights, here is Joe talking to the camera and he mostly is catching thermals where no one else is flying, and...

Saving it up for the right time.. Actually think we just ran out of stuff to send out. LOL Think we may have sent a pile of junk to the DS Fest guys this week. You know, nothing but quality items for them to take back to New Zealand.

Check on youtube for some of the Joe Wurts lectures and talks. You should find several of them. He is one of the masters.

    Free Flight Jetliner RC conversion

Let me know if you want one, for $6 you get the plane kit and a set of fiberglass control horns. Shipping will probably cost more than the plane. :(

Nate - I am not an expert on thermals, but here is my super basic starting point for you. Start watching the birds. They will teach you a ton. You can have strong thermals even on cold windy days. Thermals are generally moving around. On a really good thermally day you would be shocked...

    Free Flight Jetliner RC conversion

Got her charged up and did the throw test from the lawn at Aloft. Seems ok, but might be rather tip stall happy. Hard to say until we get it to a slope and dial it in a bit more. Felt like she was still nose heavy. Currently she s pretty close to the stock CG.

    Wanted: Prelude Canopy

Would you believe that the tracking shows it will be delivered today? I didn't think USPS would get from New York on a Saturday to California on Monday. That might be a record!

    Camp n Fly 2024 May 4-5th!

Think Ridge Runt was a Hobby shack product and the Ridge Rat was a Pierce Arrow? I'm not aware of anything other than similar names.

Ridge Rat was my aileron trainer too. :) @Bruce Anderson, on of our local pilots built up a very nice one about a year ago. Maybe he will bring it to Sunset again this year. :)

Updating RX4R and RX6R receivers to bind with Taranis X9D+

Sounds like a perfect time to install UNI firmware onto those receivers. Worse comes to worse we can do this install for you. You can drop them by the shop, or put them in the mail for us. But it is not all that hard to do yourself. Then your receivers will talk with either transmitter. Or you...

If a servo is a high voltage (HV) version, I recommend you run close to the upper voltage range. I was testing an HV servo a little while back and the centering was very poor. Eventually I connected a higher voltage battery and the servo showed excellent centering. I prefer to use a low...

    Banos Trip 4/13 Who's in?

Yes, it happens at bonos. The lift can shut off very suddenly, if it does, do not play the waiting game, LAND right away. That is based on my first visit there, it was poor conditions. Follow up visits have been much more normal and predictable.
