I have been flying R/C since 1952, actually a little before that free-flight since I was 5 years old.
I built my first model, a single channel R/C KenHi Buzzard in 1952 when I was 9 years old. I still have the Rx. but not the Tx. The Rx. used a single XFG-1 (or RK61) gas tube and a relay in a super-regen configuration. It did not work well. The Tx. and Rx. were a Berkley Super Aerotrol kit which cost $50 without batteries. And the 6 Ft. Buzzard cost $10.95 from the hobby shop in New Brunswick, N.J.
