I've flown RC planes off and on since my twenties. Currently getting reacquainted with my radio and planes after an almost ten year absence. I must say that while the bicycle can still be ridden, proficiency takes longer and longer as I get older.
I spend my winters on Maui, Hawaii, and the rest of the year in western Sonoma County, California. In Maui I'm flying at the Maui RC Modelers airfield, and the Maui Island Soaring Organization slope. In Sonoma County I'm a member of the Wine Country Fliers and the Lichau Soaring Club.
I'd be happy to hear from folks close to me in California to broaden my access to soaring sites. Always need alternatives.
